I know I havent been updating in.... years.. but I thought I'd let those who know me know that I'm still alive and well.. doing very well actualy. Keeping busy these days in my new job and spending allot of my time there these days unfortunately.

Where do I work? .. at the moment I'm vice manager of the service department at a major electronics store here in norway run by the dixons group in england. the pay is decent I guess, and it's quite interesting and varied work.. everything from dealing with store/customer relations to service of broken products and contacting suppliers for credit issues and ordering spare parts.. and that's only a few of the things we do. we also prettymuch got a routine for every single thing there.. I think the count last time was at over 8000 individual routines just for our department. You need that shit when you'r dealing with so many things at once :)

I'll post another update a bit later when I've got more time on my hands.. but here's a lil taste of what's going on in my band at the minute.. Its just a demo song, but it'll give you a rough idea of what we'r up to anyhow :)

Been a while since I've been updating now :P

music: Opeth - The grand conjuration

Mental note to self: Writing a complex song with odd time signatures and changes, and quite spiffy sounding solos is allot easier than actualy playing them on beat... gawds.. practicepracticepractice >.<

Been spending most of the week with the band and/or band-related stuff, and most likely will end up using most of the weekend with our new material and just get everything into sync and whatnot.. It's been a long while since I played steady in a band and my timing has deteriorated quite a bit in that time it would seem.. hopefully it'll all get back to me in time. I'm prolly just being overly critical about my own skill(or lack thereof), but I just want everything to be "spot on" when we start getting whole songs recorded. Mostly just got bits and pieces floating all around at this stage labeled as "work in progress" more or less, but we'r slowly starting to piece things together. I dunno how much material we've ended up dumping completely so far, but it's quite a substantial amount XD

Anyho, back to me' guitar.. may inspiration find me :)

Back in Brown-cheese land again

music: H.I.M - Join me in Death

Well, I'm back from Holland again. It's been way too long since my last visit now, and I now know I've missed it immensely :)

Now then, lets try to see if I can get the events sorted out in a semi-correct order here..

Arrived at Schipol airport without any fuzz whatsoever on friday 27th, amazingly enough, as my flight was among one of the few who actualy "werent" canceled from Oslo airport that day. Made my way down to Dordrecht by train to meet up with a rather cold looking Naros who met up with me at the station. Went over to his place and took a peek at his two adorable lil ratsies. The next day we were breakfasting on sum Norwegian salmon and scrambled eggs by yours truly before we set off to R-dam first(?) to meet up with Wolf666 and Ches for a bit..(drawing a bit of a blank here) then later off to Graywolf's place(yay!). Had a great dinner there consisting of spareribs with whiskey sauce, before spending the rest of the evening out by the fire. Later on we headed out for a game of pool, something wich I havent been doing in ages now. It was good spending time with Gray again :)
We also payed a visit to a pagan circle at some point during the evening (my minds a bit fuzzy regarding that) wich was quite the experience mind you. Really nice acoustics in that thing :)

The next evening we brought soulfox back to the station, and I was dragged back to Graywolfs place again.. dunno what we did that night, all blank with me :P The next day we headed over to Rotterdam to meet up with Wolf666 and Chester. We headed out for the cinemas to catch "The Dark" wich was..well.. the less said about it the better I guess.. lets leave it at that :D
We ended the night with dinner at Pizza Hut, followed by a visit to a pool-bar nearby.

Headed out for Kiroja and Vos'es place the next day *thankyou for driving me around Gray XD* Gray and Ches stayed around for a lil chat before heading out. The rest of the evening was spent chatting, drinking a bit and explaining the deeper aspects of EVE-online to Vos :P

The next days are a bit fuzzy, but lots of interesting substances were enjoyed at their place. It was fun :)

On saturday Gray came over to pick me up for a gothic party in Rotterdam, wearing a most awesome outfit.. Corset and all *droolage* We met up at Wolf666 and Chester's place before heading out to the Goth Club.

Initialy it seemed like quite a dump, and there really werent all that many people there, and Ches ended up leaving after not too long (aww) But as the alcohol started to kick in and the evening hours started to tick along and the music just kept getting lots better, it all turned into quite the fun evening with Wolfie getting completely pissed outof his head XD Much love for dancing in a cage with Graywolf :P

We ended up crashing at Wolfies place after carrying him back home XD The next day Graywolf ended up driving me to Schipol (thankyou again XD) for my flight back home again. Gave her a big hug before heading off to my flight.. I hate goodbyes >.<

Offcourse the damn thing was delayed because of excessive snowfall and whatnot at the Oslo airport (again) wich amazingly enuff only resulted in a 30 min delay. Got back home in one piece, atleast that's something XD

Miss you guys in Windmill-land already.. we'll have to repeat this all again sometime soon. :)

You are The Hermit

Prudence, Caution, Deliberation.

The Hermit points to all things hidden, such as knowledge and inspiration, hidden enemies. The illumination is from within, and retirement from participation in current events.

The Hermit is a card of introspection, analysis and, well, virginity. You do not desire to socialize; the card indicates, instead, a desire for peace and solitude. You prefer to take the time to think, organize, ruminate, take stock. There may be feelings of frustration and discontent but these feelings eventually lead to enlightenment, illumination, clarity.

The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing.

My.. how surprising :P

Metallica
Heavy metal! You rock! It's mostly about the
music instead of lyrics for you...but you
channel most of the emotion through the lyrics!
Mosh pit for you! Just be careful you don't
give yourself a concussion with so much
headbanging...

Where to begin..

A friend of mine (whom I met a couple of years ago at a computer store... long story) and me have long had the idea for a concept symphonic metal band going in our head.. churning out ideas and jammed allot together during the last two years. Him on keyboards, and sometimes guitar.. and me on my V guitar. During this time we've been looking for members with the same passion and taste in music as we ourselves have, and made sure that the chemistry has been what we wish it to be. So, now we got a crew of aproximately 10 people to do everything from sound mastering, to mixing, to Drums/bass/guitar/synth/flute playing, aswell as a professional symphonic composer for classical pieces with proficiency in cutting edge software synths, providing us with the sound of a "classical orchestra" without us having to go outof the way to hire professional studio musicians, and still get a very lifelike performance for our songs. We also have several people to choir, among others a skilled opera singer from Italy, who've studied at an academy in Rome for 6 years, a Romanian Concerto pianist with a score of years of experience, and a dedicated studio engineer with several years of experience. And on guitars along with me is a guy from a norwegian band called "Grand Alchemist", very skilled multi-talent from a band wich are now releasing their 2nd album under a record label. And we get to use their studio for practicing and recording, for free! All are very dedicated people who have heard "samples" from some of our early concept songs and really been up for the challenge of participating in our project. I just hope I can live up to their standards of musicmanship, and I must say.. I've learned "allot" already :P

Ah yes, the songs.. We've decided that we want to make a concept-album based on Celtic lore and mythology, focusing on the beastial creatures of the underworld, and the half-man-half-beast creatures in celtic mythology. We've sortof half-way got a cover for our album already, wich is looking "very" good indeed. Now we just need to negotiate the price for the final product :P

So, the last couple of days we've been sitting, writing lyrics and getting ideas for the final concept.. and have made a rudimentary outcast for the final "concept" we'r looking for, with lyrics and different songs.. Long nights and lots of alcohol was required to really make the creativity flow.. and we still got a long way to go.. but we got the basic concept down, and the people we need to realise the project.
Hopefully someone will bite onto our recorded demo, and want to release it.. who knows. That's all very far into the future right now :P

And if it dosent work out... owell.. the main thing is to have fun, and learn new things. and we'll have a CD as an end-result, with our ideas and dreams on it ^^

To be continued :P

Gah... sorry for not updating this thing more often.. but sometimes I just forget about this here livejournal thing completely. And I never was any good at writing diaries or anything like that, so that dosent help either with the entire "infrequency of updates" concept we'r seeing here.

Spent most of the morning playing world of warcraft for a couple hours.. after wich I went outside for a rather lengthy walk with my doggie. The weather has been as some would describe it "awfull" lately, with tons of rain, fog, and all that. The fields are completely soggy with the rain as it is now, and they'll turn to swamps or something if this keeps up I think. Funny to imagine they had a slight layer of snow on them mere weeks ago O.o

Anyhow.. about the weather. I seem to be one of the few who enjoy strolling outside in light drizzle, and 3C on the silver.. It's soothing somehow, especialy when you have a fuzzy companion by your side in the rain thoroughly enjoying herself. Hardly a person outside when the weather is like this aswell.. wich makes it all seem kinda nice and eerie.

Off to my aunts place in a bit for dinner, and to fix their computer. They've been having some problems getting online lately, so I'll have to prod around a bit in there to see whats wrong.. prolly one of the kids who have been in there changing some settings. call it a hunch :P

I'll update more often, I promise >.< (yeah right)

You scored as Lord Havelock Vetinari. You are Lord Vetinari! Supreme ruler of Ankh-Morpork! Cool, calculated, and always in control. You graduated from the assassins guild, but failed a course on stealth and camouflage, because the professor never saw you there (even though you attended every class). You always seem to know what everyone is thinking, and after a conversation with you, people feel that they have just escaped certain death.

Leave your name and:

1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal.

Eh.. site's in norwegian, but anyho.. It's basicaly about norwegian people going on hunting hollidays abroad to hunt "exotic" animals like lions, bears and wolves.. Even if they claim it's too "keep the population down"(yeah right, even if that may be the case in "some" select areas.. but this is still not the way), that kinda stuff sickens me to no end. And especialy since you dont even need a hunters permit or an actual hunting certificate to hunt in most of the areas. How the F do they know how to kill humanely if they barely know how to handle the goddamn gun :/

Feedback is apreciated :D

- They speak of creatures with magnificent grace
staring at you with their smile and kind face
even a gaze would demand your full attention
you want to show them the extent of your full affection

Stalking step by step closer to one another
you cant help but feel kinship to a sister or brother
resist the urge until you fail grievously in your task
even if you hide behind your own selfconstructed mask

Movements and posture of beauty and grace to behold
to you they are all perfect as if shaped in a beautiful mold
your only fear is that the attraction is not a mutual one
but no matter who you are, there will always be a bond

A loved one, a partner for life may be found
you are drawn in before you may whisper a sound
try as you may to resist the urge to become
you shall still feel as if you'r right at home

We are both heavenly charmed

Well, cabincon is over.. and the post-con depression is starting to seep in under my skin. Eventho I do have allot of fond memories of the con. I shall cherish the moments given to me by those who attended and most of all to those making it possible to have this con arranged once again. I've lost count of how many times I've attended since my first time back in '99.. And I think it has helped me to develope as a person over the course of years, and finaly accept that there are loving people out there who really care about you like noone else can in our mortal world.

I'd write about my impressions on the con as a whole, but I'll atleast wait for the melancholy to creep outof my mind as to not taint the tale too much.

The con is over, and I'm left with the memories of the wonderfull times that came to pass.

It always ends too soon tho...

Oh man..

Jul. 8th, 2005 | 12:04 am
mood: high high
music: Black Sabbath and Soulfly

Today started out prettymuch as any other day of the week.
I get up and do my daily fur-grooming followed by some bread and other munchies for breakfast.
The sun is glaring outside, making everything sickly hot, and it feels as if you can fry eggs on the dirt track I'm walking upon as I take my morning walk with Naki, my Malamute. Her comfort temperature usualy lies around -10,-20C orso.. so no wonder she's hot. She'll start walking slower and seem particularily interested in the scenery whenever we pass by a cool shady tree or bush. Cant say I blame her, the poor thing.

Then a lil later in the day, I get ready for work.
I work part time at a security firm in Oslo, who're also responsible for the security at this place called Oslo Spektrum. Wich is basicaly where all the big concerts are held in this country. They can fit around 10-12000 peeps orso max in there, so it's quite a job to keep track of a bunch like that when there are 40 orso guards on site, wich is the norm.

Today however, I'm gonna work backstage for Black Sabbath, wich is now again featuring Ozzy Osbourne after his leaving from the group back in the late 70's orso if I'm not misstaken? :D

I didnt get to see Ozzy much tho, only caught a glimpse of him backstage before they started letting people in. instead I was set to guard the Tour busses down in the garage, what a bore, bleh :p
However...

As I'm taking up my position in the garage, a guy approaches me and asks me scrible down some words in norwegian for him that he can use onstage. And this person would be none other than the singer from Soulfly, Max Cavalera(previously in Sepultura). As they are the opening band for Black Sabbath. And I had no idea :D

I'm offcourse thrilled to help out, and give him a quick course in Norwegian for about 15 mins until he has to get on stage. Really nice guy actualy. He then chucks a signed T-shirt into my paws before he storms onto stage, already late for the show. The guy just isnt nervous at all, this is just another day at work for him it seems :P

They put on a really good show, and the band invites me to join them in their bus afterwards, just chillin and drinking various beverages. I have to stick to soda tho, cuz I'm on duty. doh ^.^

I also got out and catched a few glimpses of Black Sabbath and Ozzy aswell, and they put on a real performance for the crowd. Ozzy really gave everything he had tonight, bouncing all over the stage!

But all things have to come to an end, and I say farewell to Soulfly and Ozzy wich I only got a tiny glimpse of. But I'm happy enough with that.

It was a blast :)

Well, what can I say.. I'm finaly back online again, after what seems like ages, and now all the wonderfull things I've ever wanted to write into this here livejournal are swept away like currents on a sandshore :D

It's been a long time now since I last frequented this here Intarweb as they call it these days, but I assure you that no force can hold me away from this place of friendship and joy. Many a good companion and friend have I met here, and I hope to find many more as time goes by.

Hopefully I'll remember to update the journal more frequently now, and perhaps check my mail every now and then.

I sometimes wonder if I'm remembered at all when I leave the only real means of communications with the community to wich I feel I belong to, so abruptly and for such a long time. I hope I am :)
